Differentiation through Technology

Differentiation through Technology

The standard for instructions exists for a reason. The utilization of standards of instruction secures the teaching practices that are intentionally focused on learning targets, it also promotes high expectations for everyone in the class. The standard-based curriculum also promotes learning, which is based on students’ previous knowledge to comprehend new concepts. The new information becomes meaningful, easier to understand, and makes more sense because an educator connects new concepts to old ones. Some educators instruct differently because they view understanding differently, they are embracing the students of today, who can reimagine tomorrow (TEDxTalks, 2015).

The best technology at work we currently have is HyFlex or a Hybrid system to instruct our students. This is a new technology that allows combining students who are in class face-to-face with students online through video, audio, and messaging in the chat technologies (Vilahauer, 2021). This new system is an ideal approach for a Russian language refresher course to suit the student population, who can come to the classroom and students who are overseas. The HyFlex method of instruction is a future of instruction in my line of duty due to the student population’s high demand, the flexibility of options, and geographical location due to the Military mission demand.
